The Dubai Frame is a 150-metre golden picture frame in Zabeel Park, with a glass-floored sky bridge at the top. It sits exactly between Old Dubai to the north and New Dubai to the south, which is the whole idea: one view of where the city came from, another of where it is going. Our guides take guests there every week. Here is our honest verdict.
The short answer: yes, for most visitors
For around AED 50, the Dubai Frame delivers a unique view, a fun glass-floor moment and a good short history exhibit in about 60-90 minutes. It is excellent value compared with other Dubai observation decks, and it is one of the few attractions that shows Old and New Dubai side by side.
It is not the highest view in Dubai and it is not meant to be. If you only have budget for one viewpoint and want the 'top of the world' feeling, choose the Burj Khalifa. If you want value, a quick visit and a different angle on the city, the Frame is worth it.
- Worth it for: first-timers, families, budget travellers, photographers, history fans
- Skip if: you are short on time and already doing Burj Khalifa, or you dislike heights and glass floors
What you actually do inside
Total time is usually 60-90 minutes, longer at peak times if there is a queue for the lift.
- Ground floor gallery: Dubai's history from a fishing and pearling village, with immersive projections (20-30 minutes)
- Express lift to the sky deck at 150 m (about 75 seconds)
- Sky bridge: 93 m long, with a glass floor panel section that turns transparent
- Views: Deira, Karama and Bur Dubai to the north; Downtown, Burj Khalifa and Sheikh Zayed Road to the south
- Exit gallery: a short 'Dubai 50 years from now' virtual experience

Best time to visit the Dubai Frame
Go about an hour before sunset. You see both sides of the city in daylight, watch the sun set behind the skyline, and then see Downtown light up - three views for one ticket. Weekday mornings at opening are the quietest.
In summer, haze can soften the view of Old Dubai in the middle of the day. Winter (November to March) gives the clearest skies.
Dubai Frame vs Burj Khalifa vs The View at The Palm
Doing two? The Frame plus Burj Khalifa gives you the old-and-new story plus the height record. The Frame plus The View at The Palm is a cheaper pair with very different views.
- Dubai Frame: 150 m, around AED 50, Old and New Dubai views, glass floor, 60-90 min
- Burj Khalifa At the Top (124/125): 452 m, from AED 165, highest view, iconic, 60-90 min
- The View at The Palm: 240 m, from AED 100, best view of Palm Jumeirah and Atlantis
